About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. The role requires competency in delivering care primarily to an adult population. The Staff RN-Inpatient job description incorporates essential functions adapted from the ANA Nursing: Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010).

This is an on-site position at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the 3W Cardiac Progressive Care department. The position is 0.9 FTE, with a 12-hour night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Weekend coverage is every third Friday and Saturday; holidays are assigned on a rotating basis.

Requirements

• Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment.
• Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice acquired through completion of education at an accredited School of Nursing sufficient to be eligible for Registered Nurse licensure.
• Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or a multistate nursing license from a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certification, or an AHA-approved equivalent, within 90 days of hire.
• For newly hired or transferred RNs without a BSN or higher nursing degree and with less than one year of RN experience: proof of acceptance into an accredited BSN-or-higher nursing program within 15 months of hire or transfer, with the program completed within five years of enrollment.
