About The Position

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department operates 24/7/365. The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing and delegates nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel according to the criteria in the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. In accordance with department policies and nursing care standards, the RN provides professional nursing care and is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients.

The role includes assessing patients’ initial, ongoing, and functional health status; documenting planned interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems; evaluating and documenting responses to interventions and outcomes; and revising plans of care with a multidisciplinary team. The RN also participates in process improvement activities focused on clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance. Job duties require attention to safety, quality, and efficiency. The job profile is not exhaustive and may change.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio and/or a current Registered Nurse license in good standing with a multi-state compact state.
• BLS certification.
• BSN required at 5 years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessments as appropriate to the patient population or individual.
• Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate and document responses to nursing interventions and achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals.
• Revise plans of care with the multidisciplinary team based on evaluative data.
• Participate in process improvement activities to achieve targeted measures of clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
• Delegate nursing tasks to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel in accordance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
• Provide professional nursing care according to department policies and nursing care standards, with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
