The Registered Professional Nurse at Northside Hospital independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines, and in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act. The practice of professional nursing at Northside Hospital utilizes ANA's Scope and Standards Practice, encompassing Clinical Knowledge and Practice, Professional Practice, Leadership, Professional Development, and Evidence-Based Practice, Quality and Research. The Staff Registered Professional Nurse manages patient care of an assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of Northside Hospital. The practice of all professional nurses at Northside Hospital reflects the values of collaboration, communication, coordination, integration, and empowerment. Staff Nurse positions are based on a sequential progression from a novice nurse to an expert, implying that a nurse employed at a specific level possesses the knowledge, skills, and critical thinking capabilities of all prior levels.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Licensed as an RN in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
  • Must hold American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).

Nice To Haves

  • BSN degree
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
  • Additional Life Support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications in specific units.
  • Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units

Responsibilities

  • Independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established guidelines.
  • Practices professional nursing in accordance with the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.
  • Protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities, prevents illness and injury, facilitates healing, and alleviates suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human response.
  • Acts as an advocate in the care of individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations.
  • Manages patient care of an assigned group of patients in accordance with the philosophy and policies of Northside Hospital.
  • Reflects the values of collaboration, communication, coordination, integration, and empowerment in practice.
