About The Position

This role is for an evening shift Registered Nurse in the Psychiatric Crisis Department, working 24 or 32 hours per week (0.6 or 0.8 FTE) from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. The position requires every other weekend availability and the flexibility to float to other Behavioral Health nursing units as needed. The starting hourly rate is $36.90, with pay commensurate with experience. Additional shift differentials of $4.70 per hour are provided for evening and weekend shifts. The primary function is to assist patients through their episode of care efficiently and safely, while providing developmentally appropriate patient care. This includes delegating, directing, and overseeing care, practicing professional nursing, and promoting patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Maintaining a current Ohio Nursing License is required.

Requirements

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio.
Current CPR certification required.
BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire, required.
Must be willing to obtain and maintain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other necessary certification as determined by your manager based on business unit.

Responsibilities

Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach.
Assesses individualized patient needs.
Communicates patient care needs and priorities to assigned Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel.
Plans, implements, educates, and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices.
Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families.
Engages in the “workplace community” by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff.
Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures.
