About The Position

The Staff RN - PACU provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the health-illness continuum in diverse healthcare settings and collaborates with the healthcare team. The nurse is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing. As a High Reliability Organization, OhioHealth expects the role to focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. This is a full-time position with 8 a.m.–8:30 p.m. hours and 36 scheduled weekly hours. The position includes on-call coverage of 3–4 weekend shifts and 2 weeknight shifts in an 8-week schedule. During on-call shifts, the nurse must be able to respond and arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes.

Requirements

• Associate degree in Nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse credential from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
• Ability to respond and arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes during on-call shifts.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in ICU, ED, or TICU is highly desired.

Nice To Haves

• Two to three years of experience.
• Critical care, intermediate care, or emergency department experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial, ongoing, and functional health-status assessments, as applicable to the patient population or individual.
• Document planned nursing interventions based on nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve outcomes appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate and document patient responses to nursing interventions and the achievement of outcomes at appropriate intervals.
• Revise the plan of care based on evaluative data as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Participate in process-improvement activities to achieve targeted clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance measures.
• Perform operations responsibilities.
