Staff RN - Medical Unit 1

OhioHealthColumbus, OH
Onsite

About The Position

We are excited to deliver our innovative comprehensive team approach to patient care. We have a comprehensive charge nurse, a pharmacist, a transition of care nurse, a resident, and a physician who round on each patient every day from 8 am to 11 am. All patients are seen by the same hospitalist on the floor. Our physicians are a part of the Central Ohio Primary Care Hospitalist group and the same physician rounds on the unit for a week at a time and switches off. The unit consists of medical surgical patients. We also have 4 beds that we utilize as "Long Stay" beds. These beds are filled by patients who have a difficult disposition and require a longer length of stay. There are specific criteria these patients have to meet to be eligible for one of these beds. We utilize RN's and LPN's, each taking their own patient assignment with support from our Patient Support Assistants (PSAs). Our model of care allows for unique opportunity to impact throughput of patients and pilot innovative ideas for patient care. This position provides general nursing care to patients and families along the health illness continuum in diverse health care settings while collaborating with the health care team.
