RN, Medical Stepdown Unit
About The Position
Baystate Health is seeking inpatient Registered Nurses for its Medical Stepdown Unit. This unit is a 42-bed facility equipped with bedside hemodynamic measuring (21 beds) and 24-hour monitoring. It also includes 21 medical beds with telemetry capabilities and continuous O2 monitoring. The unit frequently cares for patients requiring tracheostomy vent dependence, BiPAP/CPAP rescue, and Hi-Flow O2 delivery systems. The unit is supported by a nurse educator, an evening clinical nurse coordinator, respiratory therapy, on-site APP/MD, and ancillary support staff including monitor techs, ambulation techs, PCTs, and operations assistants. Baystate Health offers supportive, individualized, and tailored orientation. Baystate Medical Center is the only major referral care center and the only Level 1 trauma center and pediatric trauma center in the area.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year RN experience required.
- Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination.
- Licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.
- Diploma in Nursing (Required)
- Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

- Utilize bedside hemodynamic measuring equipment.
- Collaborate with nurse educators, clinical nurse coordinators, respiratory therapy, APP/MD, and ancillary support staff.
