Positions available for March 2027, 36 hours per week. This role involves rotating days and nights every six weeks, with every other weekend and holiday rotation. The Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) is a 20-bed unit with 12 closed-door rooms and 8 open bay rooms. Nurse to patient ratios are typically 1:1 or 1:2 for high acuity patients. Patients range from birth to late adulthood and include those with Congenital Heart Defects, Acquired Heart Disease, pre & post-surgical conditions, and heart & lung transplants. The unit also cares for ECMO and VAD patients. The job summary describes assisting patients to move rapidly and effectively through their episode of care while prioritizing quality and safety. This includes delegating, directing, overseeing, and providing developmentally appropriate patient care. The role requires practicing professional nursing and promoting patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses, while maintaining a current Ohio Nursing License.
