In the Cardiac Step-down Unit (H4A), we treat patients of all ages. We specialize in treating both surgically and medically, those patients with congenital heart defects. We also provide medical cardiac management for children and adolescents with heart and vasculature related disease, as well as perform heart, lung, and heart/lung transplants. The unit has 24 beds with expansion forthcoming and a nurse to patient ratio of 1:3. While we care for all ages, approximately 75% of our patient population is under the age of six months. We are looking for detail-oriented nurses who can handle a fast-paced environment with a steep learning curve. This role assists patients to move rapidly, uneventfully, and as effectively as possible through their episode of care while maintaining quality and safety as a priority. The nurse delegates, directs, oversees and provides developmentally appropriate patient care. Practices professional nursing and promotes patient advocacy in accordance with the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses and maintains a current Ohio Nursing License.
