Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated progressively responsible engineering experience, including technical leadership or coordination of multidisciplinary technical activities.
  • Strong research-methodology and evaluation-design skills.
  • Experience with anthropometry, Human Factors Engineering, Human Systems Integration, biomechanics, occupational safety, engineering, or related human-systems activities.
  • Experience coordinating technical activities with Government customers.
  • Strong technical writing and report-development capability.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects, schedules, technical scope, and priorities.
  • Ability to integrate scientific research, engineering analysis, and operational considerations into technically defensible recommendations.
  • US Citizenship is required for consideration, as this job requires a US government security clearance.
  • Acceptable - Secret level clearance

  • Previous Principal Investigator or Technical Lead experience.
  • Department of War acquisition or research experience.
  • Aircraft accommodation or aircrew/protective-equipment evaluation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead assigned scientific and engineering projects from initial customer question through final technical product.
  • Translate customer requirements into executable research and evaluation strategies.
  • Develop scientifically defensible evaluation methodologies and formal test plans.
  • Lead multidisciplinary scientific and engineering project teams.
  • Coordinate scientists, engineers, operational personnel, human subjects, and Government stakeholders.
  • Manage technical scope, schedules, milestones, resources, risks, and priorities.
  • Lead aircraft, human-system, aircrew-equipment, protective-equipment, anthropometric, and laboratory evaluations.
  • Develop configuration matrices and data-collection strategies.
  • Coordinate laboratory and field-evaluation activities.
  • Analyze and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Integrate scientific findings with engineering and operational observations.
  • Serve as primary author for assigned technical reports and engineering recommendations.
  • Lead project meetings, technical reviews, technical interchange meetings, milestone reviews, and customer briefings.
  • Communicate project status, technical risks, schedule impacts, findings, and recommendations.
  • Coordinate technical contributions from multidisciplinary project team members.
  • Support proposal development, staffing plans, work breakdown recommendations, labor estimating, schedules, and technical capture.
