About The Position

Match Group is seeking a detail-oriented Trust & Safety professional to ensure alignment with global regulatory frameworks and contribute to their Safety by Design initiatives. This role operates at the intersection of product, policy, and compliance, requiring collaboration across engineering, legal, and operations to translate regulatory obligations into user-centered safety product requirements. The specialist will communicate effectively with engineers and data scientists, help teams understand regulatory requirements, evaluate solution effectiveness, and advocate for user safety features. This role involves writing compliance reports to ensure products meet legal standards. It is a cross-functional position demanding clear writing, rigorous reasoning, and pragmatic navigation of ambiguity, with a focus on tough product trade-offs, large-scale enforcement realities, and proportionate, user-respecting safety design aligned with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Trust & Safety, product policy, or regulatory compliance, ideally with product-facing exposure.
  • Deep understanding of online harm types and interventions, including detection tooling and safety UX design.
  • Strong technical fluency—comfortable analyzing detection performance metrics and communicating with engineers and product managers.
  • Excellent writing and reasoning skills; ability to produce clear, structured thinking in documents, even on complex topics.
  • Product mindset—approaching regulatory compliance and policy goals as design problems to solve, not boxes to check.
  • Familiarity with major global safety regulations affecting Trust & Safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience engaging directly with regulators or contributing to external transparency reports.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely alongside the Legal team to translate safety regulations and codes of practice into actionable product requirements and design principles.
  • Act as a thought partner to product and engineering teams, especially on detection tooling, user-facing safety flows, and effectiveness measurement.
  • Evaluate safety system performance and make recommendations grounded in technical understanding (e.g., detection thresholds, false positives).
  • Write high-quality internal documentation, compliance narratives, and external-facing disclosures.
  • Serve as a cross-functional facilitator among product, legal, enforcement ops, data science, and more to align on safety system design and obligations.
  • Monitor evolving regional safety regulations and assess their implications for products and policies.
  • Contribute to external regulator briefings and product walkthroughs as required.
