Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
  • 8+ years of relevant engineering experience required.
  • Experience in design and failure analysis tools such as DFMEA, DFM, etc. required.
  • Ability to provide technical direction to multi-functional teams to improve efficiency, effectiveness and collaboration, with open communication, identifying issues and establishing resolutions as necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2+ years of project management and/or leading teams experience highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of selection of fluid distribution components, electromechanical components, heat transfer, refrigeration, welding or material compatibility experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Drive technical design and development to launch new products timely, coordinating with both internal production and external suppliers to ensure quality and manufacturability.
  • Ensure technical aspects of projects are defined and completed, working with project manager to define schedules and resolve project roadblocks.
  • Supervise prototyping with some hands-on support as needed.
  • Estimate and manage project budgets.
  • Define testing protocols and supervise completion of internal lab testing, external certifications, and review test reports.
  • Provide technical leadership and drive execution of NPI projects, mentoring junior engineers through design & development activities.
  • Lead engineering support for product development projects, applying DFM and DFMEA methodologies to meet design, quality, manufacturability, and productivity requirements.
  • Work to continuously improve processes, enhance collaboration, reduce risk, and reduce product development cycle time.
