About The Position

Headway is seeking a skilled and experienced quantitative Staff Market Researcher to join their team. This role will be a strategic partner, using quantitative or mixed methods to uncover critical insights about customers and the market. The researcher will conduct studies to inform business and marketing strategies, identify growth opportunities, and develop differentiated product features. A key responsibility will be maintaining the brand and sentiment measurement program, synthesizing data from various channels to drive improvements in products. Headway's mission is to create an accessible mental healthcare system by addressing barriers like insurance and administrative complexities, and the company has automated these processes. They are building tools for therapists, improving the experience of finding a therapist, and investing in platform foundations for scale. Headway is a Series D company with significant funding, aiming to make mental healthcare accessible to everyone.

Requirements

  • PhD + 4 years of industry market research experience (ideally in a fast-moving tech environment), OR Masters + 7 years, OR Bachelors + 9 years.
  • Expertise in advanced quantitative market research methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and frame business problems and opportunities.
  • Portfolio showcasing direct impact from quantitative research.
  • Experience in tracking survey research programs.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Self-starter with innate curiosity about human behavior.
  • Passion for solving complex problems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end market research strategy, including identifying key questions, scoping research plans, conducting research, synthesizing findings, and presenting actionable recommendations.
  • Utilize quantitative research skills to understand users and the market, serving as a survey and statistical analysis expert for the Research team, employing advanced methods like DCM.
  • Establish and manage a brand and sentiment measurement program, synthesizing data from multiple sources to identify trends and make cross-organizational recommendations.
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to business leaders, assisting in defining problem spaces and informing new investments.
  • Foster a culture of research and user-centricity by evangelizing research findings and promoting customer understanding.
  • Mentor and guide junior researchers to build and scale the research practice.
