Under the general supervision of the Clinical Services Program Administrator, this role provides assessment and consultation services to all referred consumers, principally those whose eligibility for services is being assessed. The Staff Psychologist consults with staff and other community agencies, and offers clinical supervision to Psychological Assistants. The position requires completing psychological assessments, interpreting findings, formulating diagnoses, and writing reports on a timely basis. Effective communication of findings to consumers, family members, professionals, and other appropriate individuals is essential, as is working cooperatively and effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Responsibilities also include completing assessments requested by the court, assessing consumer eligibility through reviews of developmental or psychological assessments, and recording findings in an eligibility statement. The role may involve providing clinical oversight and guidance to other clinical staff, formulating, monitoring, and revising treatment plans, coding CDERs, and participating in fair hearing and judicial processes. Additionally, the Staff Psychologist reviews behavioral programs/proposals, provides consultation, education, and training to various stakeholders, completes forms for public benefits, and assists in formulating agency policies related to eligibility and clinical treatment. The position requires keeping the manager informed of work status, seeking opportunities to expand knowledge, attending training sessions, and staying current with California Board of Psychology licensure requirements. Maintaining good standing with the Board, using equipment appropriately, maintaining a neat work area, utilizing IT systems securely, observing safety rules, and complying with agency plans and policies are also key aspects of the role.
