About The Position

Haymarket Center is seeking a Staff Psychiatrist to join our team! This role involves providing direct psychiatry services to clients, including comprehensive history, exams, assessments, and treatment plan development. The psychiatrist will order and interpret tests, prescribe medications, document services in the EHR, and assess patient needs for additional internal and external services. They will also follow clinic protocols, participate in quality improvement initiatives and educational activities, and stay updated on advancements in Psychiatry and HIV/AIDS. Compliance with agency standards is required. The role may also include administrative management and supervision of other medical partners.

Requirements

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited program.
  • Board certification in Psychiatry.
  • Current unrestricted medical license in the state of practice and any adjacent states as needed.
  • Valid DEA license or the ability to obtain DEA licensure.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to providing integrated and patient-centered care with compassion and respect.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in outpatient Psychiatry clinic setting.
  • Experience working in HIV/AIDS care, LGBT+ care and/or substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct psychiatry services to clients, including comprehensive history, exam, assessment, and treatment plan development.
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies as needed.
  • Prescribe or recommend pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including controlled substances as permitted by law.
  • Document treatment services provided or recommended in the EHR.
  • Assess patient needs for additional internal (e.g., case management) and external services, and refer/assist patients to ensure access.
  • Follow clinic protocols and procedures in providing and documenting services.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, research projects, and continuing education activities.
  • Continually update knowledge of Psychiatry and HIV/AIDS.
  • Comply with agency Compliance Standards of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • May be responsible for the administrative management, supervision, and collaboration of other medical partners.
