About The Position
Alameda Health System (AHS) is a full-service county hospital offering a complete array of patient-centered health care services. For this role, the physician will partner with AHS to provide a full range of psychiatric services including Inpatient, Consult Liaison, Psychiatric Emergency Services, and Outpatient Behavioral Health. The Inpatient Unit has 69 beds and physicians cover an average of 12 beds per shift. Support staff includes Social Workers, RNs, and Occupational Therapists. This position is for adults only.
Requirements
- Must be board certified (board eligible for new graduates).
- Requires CA license and DEA.
Responsibilities
- Performs standard psychiatric exams and medication management.
- Patients must be seen daily, and physician is to be onsite for the duration of their shift.
- Physicians lead treatment teams and are responsible for making optimal therapeutic and disposition decisions for JGPH patients.
- Attend monthly (or as needed) departmental meetings.
- Follow all bylaws and regulations of Med Staff.
- Completes documents such as admission notes and discharge summaries in a timely manner.
