You will be part of the Powertrain and Propulsion R&D team that evaluates and tests novel powertrain technologies for Wisk aircrafts Due to the nature of the work required for this position, this is an onsite opportunity. You will be required to work from our Mountain View location
Requirements
- BS, MS, or PhD in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Aeronautical Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant work experience in Mechanical Engineering
- 2+ years of testing experience
- Advanced understanding of Mechanical Engineering fundamentals (statics, dynamics, structural mechanics, etc.)
- Familiarity with CAD software such as Siemens NX (preferred), SolidWorks, etc.
- Familiarity with Matlab or Python for data regression
- Familiarity with drafting standards, including GD&T, and ability to interpret or create engineering drawings
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and test mechanical and electromechanical components and structures
- Create, run, and post-process basic stress and thermal analysis simulations
- Create and release 2D mechanical design drawings
- Perform analysis using first principles techniques to validate mechanical and thermal aspects of the design
- Make design considerations for mass optimization, structural integrity, thermal considerations, and risk mitigation
- Manage and track CGs and weights for components installed on an aircraft
