About The Position

As a Staff Mechanical Design Engineering in Moog’s Industrial Group you’ll report to the Site Engineering Manager and will be responsible for the development of complex electrohydraulic, electromechanical, and electropneumatic components and systems that will become new products on the market, courtesy of Moog, Inc. Industrial Group specializes in developing custom hydraulic and electromechanical precision motion control solutions. Our current customer base includes flight simulation, oil and gas exploration, and custom hydraulic and electro-mechanical solutions. The position is geared toward technical career ladder advancement. This necessitates innovating technical solutions with the goal of accelerating product platforms into diverse markets.

Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • At least 10 years of related experience
  • Proven expertise in mechanical engineering sub-disciplines including: Statics and Dynamics, Hydraulics and Electro-Mechanical, Stress, Fatigue, and Performance Analysis, Rotating Machinery
  • FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools
  • CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics)
  • Model Based Design

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct efforts requiring authoritative judgment in the evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard and nonstandard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria
  • Independently devise new approaches for the problems encountered and plans and coordinates the work of others on major engineering projects
  • Develop new product requirements through consulting with customers and sales personnel
  • Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses
  • Lead a design proposal team in preparing a design, estimating costs, and assisting in writing the technical volume
  • Provide effective, compassionate project leadership to a team of creative, independent individuals, soliciting and being sensitive to design feedback
  • Select, initiate and perform specialized research
  • Create reliable designs through a comprehensive experimental development test program
  • Document designs, analyses, and test results with accurate and concise reports
