About The Position

The Staff Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for leading the project controls processes with the internal project management team to execute project deliverables within budget and schedule. This role involves ensuring project set-up in Enterprise Planning & Controls software, analyzing data, reviewing logs, and running reports. The specialist will create Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), develop and maintain effective scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts for multiple projects, and follow project execution plans. Responsibilities also include engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost control. The role serves as a point of contact for technical questions, approves Purchase Orders and/or Subcontracts for proper coding, and inputs/documents changes to cost reports or forecasts. The specialist will interface with the Project Management Team and Accounting Department to review project and contingency costs, support external audits, and review change orders. Additionally, the role involves developing cash flow reports, various levels of schedules, applying and reviewing logic ties, monitoring resource loading, supporting Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM), creating schedule reports, and analyzing pre-programmed project scheduling reports. The specialist will consult with the project team on schedule progress, analyze schedule management using critical path method, estimating, project cost management, and forecasting. They will perform schedule what-if scenarios, develop and maintain an earned value management system, input and validate progress measurement, develop and maintain progress curves, perform material takeoffs, and conduct quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables. Field audits to validate accuracy of reporting and processes, and assisting with Project Forensic Analysis are also key functions. The role performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in engineering, construction management or related field and 3 years of direct project controls experience required or applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • OSHA 10-hour safety certification or ability to obtain.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM).
  • Create various schedule reports and determine appropriate reporting format.
  • Develop, review, and analyze pre-programmed project scheduling reports and back-up documentation for accuracy.
  • Consult with the project team on schedule progress.
  • Analyze and evaluate schedule management involving the critical path method of scheduling techniques, estimating, project cost management and forecasting.
  • Perform schedule what-if scenarios.
