Staff Program Manager
About The Position
Nuro is hiring a program manager to lead day-to-day technical execution of its robotaxi partnership. The role is part of the engineering organization and works across engineering, business, and external partner teams to support initial deployment and subsequent scale-up. The program manager will help define the critical path to launch in multiple new cities, track performance, and coordinate resolution of internal and external issues. This role suits someone who enjoys working at the center of a fast-paced, complex, and rapidly growing technical program. The successful candidate will ramp up quickly on a broad range of technical topics, lead meetings across levels, stay highly organized, and communicate clearly. Previous autonomy experience is not required; enthusiasm for autonomy and learning technical topics is valued, as is the ability to create simplicity and clarity in complex situations.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in consulting, program management, or business operations.
- Engineering degree.
- Experience leading complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders.
- Willingness to work in person from Nuro headquarters four days per week.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working on large partnerships or external-facing programs.
- Experience in aerospace, automotive, autonomy, robotics, mobility, AI, hardware/software, or other technical industries.
- Experience supporting launches, deployments, or scaled operational programs.
Responsibilities
- Own technical program execution for Nuro’s robotaxi program, coordinating external partners and autonomy, hardware, and AI platform teams.
- Build and maintain the critical path for scaling robotaxis, including milestones, dependencies, risks, and open items.
- Identify issues early, help teams make tradeoffs, and drive problems to resolution.
- Create clear progress, risk, and key-decision updates for leaders.
- Build strong working relationships across Nuro and with external partners.
- Use data and judgment to support decision-making and measure progress over time.
