About The Position

The Fluke Product Compliance is seeking a Staff Program Manager to protect business growth by applying program management skills. Fluke is the world leader in professional electronic test tools and software; your programs will help keep the world up and running by developing and delivering rugged, reliable, and accurate test and measurement tools and software used by professionals in critical and fast-growing industries such as solar power and electric vehicle service equipment. Reporting to the manager of the Product Compliance Team, you will own process discipline, leading cross-functional, geographically dispersed program teams through scoping, securing resources, setting program targets, and holding self and team accountable. The role requires a person who is comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization, in managing conflict and tradeoffs and enabling cross-functional clarity and execution.

Requirements

• Regarded as an expert/coach in influential communication / flexing their style to address the communication needs of the team or individual

• Able to coach team members for success
• Seen as an expert in evaluating risk and potential blockers
• Strong Program Management skills including system tools and soft skills
• Strong Problem-Solving skills
• Strong knowledge of standard work around the entire product lifecycle required for the management of the project
• Strong understanding of the full organizational program needs
• A minimum of 10+ years of experience developing system level products, which include electronic hardware, embedded firmware, and application software in a fully integrated system
• Demonstrated ability to inspire collaborative team execution including leadership of geographically dispersed cross-functional development teams
• Proven experience in risk management and change management
• Comfortable communicating at all levels of the organization, adjusting appropriately for the audience and purpose

• PMI/PMP certification a plus
• Regulatory Compliance experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Own process discipline
• Lead cross-functional, geographically dispersed program teams through scoping, securing resources, setting program targets, and holding self and team accountable
• Communicate at all levels of the organization
• Manage conflict and tradeoffs
• Enable cross-functional clarity and execution
• Create and update schedules / action plans
• Drive crucial conversations necessary
• Identify when countermeasures are needed and lead team through countermeasure execution
• Define project Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and understand how they impact the larger Fluke-wide metrics
• Help to roll KPIs to leadership
• Accurately track KPIs to support the high level KPIs in the organization
• Evaluate risk and potential blockers
• Identify when countermeasures are needed
• Lead trade off discussions / impact analysis to resolve including risk mitigation plans
• Lead teams through pivots when needed
• Commit, advocate and lead through change
• Incorporate Fortive Business System (FBS) tools/skills including project visual management for their program, as applicable
• Identify when problem solving is needed
• Cultivate a culture of problem solving and apply problem solving as a mindset to the program
• Manage risks
• Appropriately escalate problems
• Create and manage budgets for projects of medium to high complexity
• Track status of budget and communicate to leadership
• Problem solve out of budget requests - challenge unplanned spend
• Guide other teams and project managers through budgeting exercises
• Manage the project using standard work around the entire product lifecycle
• Lead the cross functional program team required to support program activities
• Lead project stand up meetings
• Own communicating to leadership and to team with coaching
• Apply the basic visual management tools (Build Measure Learn (BML) schedule, issue tracker, risk register)
