About The Position

Crusoe is seeking a Staff Program Manager, Operations to own and improve the operational machinery of the Cloud Engineering organization, which is growing rapidly. This role is crucial for replacing manual processes with scalable systems to support the organization's expansion. The ideal candidate will be a program manager who thinks in terms of operating systems, is proficient in automation, and can effectively manage senior engineering leaders. The role involves end-to-end ownership of the people and operations layer within Cloud Engineering. This includes managing headcount and requisition coordination with the Recruiting team, organizing all-hands meetings and events with the EA team, overseeing intern and early-career programs, driving manager enablement, and establishing operating rhythms to ensure organizational clarity for leaders. The position will transition key responsibilities currently held by the Chief of Staff to a dedicated owner.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in program management, business operations, or people operations, with experience supporting a large engineering or infrastructure organization through fast growth.
  • Direct experience owning headcount or workforce planning operations, including requisitions, position management, and reconciliation across Finance, Talent, and business leadership.
  • Proven track record running an all-hands or comparable large-audience program for an organization of 500+, with evidence of improvement.
  • Advanced spreadsheet skills and automation instinct (e.g., Apps Script, APIs, AI-assisted tooling).
  • Ability to effectively chase senior individuals and hold them to deadlines without formal authority.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and high-volume work, including inheriting programs with incomplete documentation.
  • Excellent written communication skills for clear and concise messaging.
  • Low ego and high drive, willing to handle both administrative tasks and strategic process redesign.
  • Experience managing program or event budgets.

Responsibilities

  • Own the headcount plan of record for Cloud Engineering, reconciling requisitions and position IDs across multiple systems to create a trusted source of truth.
  • Manage the intake and prioritization process for new and backfill requisitions, ensuring critical roles are identified and pipeline status is current.
  • Partner with Recruiting and Finance to optimize hiring pace, requisition sequencing, and budget utilization for headcount.
  • Develop and maintain the Cloud Engineering organization chart and span-of-control view.
  • Coordinate the interview process for engineering requisitions, including panel construction, interviewer capacity, and feedback completion.
  • Own the end-to-end coordination of Cloud Engineering All-Hands meetings, including topic bidding, agenda setting, speaker strategy, deck production, and Q&A follow-up.
  • Measure and improve attendance, participation, and satisfaction for all-hands meetings and other organizational events.
  • Drive adoption and engagement in engineering tech talks, site-specific all-hands, and social programming across global locations.
  • Own the intern and early-career program for Cloud Engineering, managing request cycles, offers, mentor matching, performance tracking, and full-time conversion.
  • Drive adoption of manager training and enablement programs in partnership with the People team.
  • Build and measure the functional onboarding program for engineers and engineering managers joining Cloud Engineering.
  • Partner with HR on engagement and pulse survey cycles, including readouts, action plans, and follow-through.
  • Own operating programs and the planning calendar for the Chief of Staff organization, including staff meetings, reviews, planning cycles, and offsites.
  • Produce recurring leadership updates and executive readouts for the Chief of Staff and SVP.
  • Identify and automate recurring operational tasks using forms, scripts, dashboards, or scheduled reminders.
  • Manage the Sheets, Docs, Jira, and Confluence artifacts supporting these programs, ensuring structure, access, and hygiene, and migrating them to more robust systems.
  • Develop a repeatable playbook for program management that others can utilize.
  • Own the communications and change-management plan for program rollouts, focusing on driving adoption.
