Staff Product Manager

TwentyNew York, NY
$184,000 - $389,000

About The Position

This is a 0→1 product role for someone who can move from early user discovery through MVP launch and iteration. You will work closely with a small team of engineers, users, and executive leadership to define the marketplace experience, establish its foundational workflows, and determine how matching, trust, and participation should work at scale. The problems are complex, the requirements will evolve, and there is no established playbook. Success will require strong product judgment, deep user empathy, and the ability to move fluidly between long-term strategy and hands-on execution.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience taking a product or major capability from 0→1.
  • Experience as a Product Manager with meaningful ownership across both product strategy and execution.
  • Strong user interview, discovery, and synthesis skills.
  • Defined and launched MVPs, using early feedback and product signals to guide iteration.
  • Deep understanding of user experience, user workflows, and how product decisions shape behavior.
  • Worked closely with technical leads and engineers to scope, prioritize, and sequence product development.
  • Can operate effectively with a small engineering team and provide the clarity needed to keep execution moving.
  • Strong product judgment and can make decisions in ambiguous or low-signal environments.
  • Can communicate complex product decisions clearly to both technical teams and executive leadership.
  • U.S. citizens.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading product development sprints and maintaining strong acceptance criteria.
  • Built marketplace, platform, matching, or multi-sided network products.
  • Experience designing products that require trust, transparency, identity, reputation, or access controls.
  • Built products serving multiple participant types with different workflows and incentives.
  • Built or managed AI-driven or agentic products.
  • Experience designing products used by both humans and automated systems.
  • Worked in government, defense, intelligence, cybersecurity, or similarly mission-driven environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and execution.
  • Lead the product from initial discovery through MVP definition, launch, iteration, and scale.
  • Conduct user interviews and ongoing discovery across a diverse set of marketplace participants.
  • Develop a deep understanding of user workflows, incentives, constraints, and trust requirements.
  • Design experiences that support both human users and automated participants.
  • Define how marketplace participants discover opportunities, evaluate fit, establish trust, and engage with one another.
  • Translate complex operational needs into clear product requirements, priorities, and roadmaps.
  • Partner closely with a team of approximately three to five engineers to define scope, sequence delivery, and make sound technical and product tradeoffs.
  • Lead or actively support sprint planning, backlog prioritization, acceptance criteria, and product reviews.
  • Use real operational signals, user feedback, and product data to improve matching quality and marketplace performance.
  • Balance near-term experimentation and delivery with the longer-term development of a scalable platform.
  • Brief executive leadership on product strategy, progress, risks, tradeoffs, and key decisions.
  • Create alignment across engineering, users, and leadership on what to build, why it matters, and what comes next.
