Staff Product Manager

About The Position

We're hiring a staff PM to set product direction across the vCluster platform, vNode, and vMetal — and to raise the bar on how product is done here. You'll partner directly with the Head of Product, Engineering leadership, and the founders on the architectural and category-level decisions that determine where vCluster sits as the multi-tenant Kubernetes category matures. Your Role as a Staff Product Manager: Cross-Surface Strategy: Set coherent direction across vCluster platform, vNode, and vMetal. Identify where the surfaces converge, where they diverge, and where the next product surface needs to exist. Own the technical thesis that ties them together. Architecture Partnership: Work directly with engineering leadership, customer design partners, and founders on the architecture decisions that shape the product for years — tenancy models, isolation boundaries, the API contracts that downstream products depend on. Category Definition: Multi-tenant Kubernetes for AI Cloud is a category being defined right now. Drive how we define it externally — analyst relations, technical content, conference narrative, and competitive framing. Customer Intelligence at Depth: Build trusted relationships with platform leads at the largest AI Cloud operators, financial institutions, and platform engineering organizations. Translate their forward-looking architecture decisions into product direction. Team Multiplier: Raise the bar on PM craft across the team. Establish the patterns — specs, customer development, launch process — that scale beyond you.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in product management, with at least 4 years on cloud infrastructure, platform services, or distributed systems.
  • Owned a product line through multiple stages — early adoption, scaling, category leadership.
  • Ability to engage with principal and staff engineers on Kubernetes internals, distributed systems tradeoffs, and multi-tenant isolation.
  • Shipped infrastructure products that other companies build on.
  • Been through at least one cycle of a product going from new category to default choice.
  • Experience in recognizing how infra categories evolve and where the moats actually form.
  • Ability to bring opinions, defended with depth.

Nice To Haves

  • Built or led product for a KaaS offering at a cloud provider, vendor, or hyperscale internal platform.
  • Deep experience with GPU scheduling, multi-tenant accelerator workloads, sovereign GPU clouds, or LLM deployment infrastructure.
  • Built for bare metal infrastructure, high-performance computing, or sovereign cloud environments.
  • Helped define a developer or infrastructure category that didn't exist before.
