Staff Product Manager, Clinical Monitoring & Intervention

Abby Care•San Francisco, CA
•$230,000 - $270,000•Hybrid

About The Position

Abby Care is hiring a Staff Product Manager to set the standard for how AI-powered features reach caregivers and clinicians across its caregiver and clinician products. The role ensures that signals captured by caregivers contribute to the judgments clinicians act on, and that AI features are trustworthy, coherent, and rigorously evaluated before launch. The Staff Product Manager will operate with high autonomy, partner closely with the founder and clinical and engineering leadership, and influence how the product organization approaches AI. The position owns readiness criteria for clinical- and caregiver-facing AI features, cross-product consistency, and the evaluation, monitoring, and iteration of caregiver and clinician AI systems. It also ensures evaluation frameworks withstand clinical scrutiny and payer and compliance review. This is a full-time hybrid opportunity based in San Francisco, California.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with a proven track record leading complex, high-impact AI or ML product initiatives at Staff or Lead PM level in a high-growth technology environment.
  • Direct experience designing evaluation frameworks for production AI systems and deciding how real-world AI performance is measured, monitored, and gated before and after launch.
  • Strong technical acumen and experience working with engineering and Applied ML and AI teams on data-intensive or AI-driven platforms; ability to deeply evaluate technical trade-offs, without necessarily writing code.
  • Deep empathy for family caregivers and care recipients, and a rigorous approach to qualitative and quantitative research in a regulated environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup, adapt quickly, solve challenges creatively, and deliver results without unnecessary complexity.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to translate complex healthcare and technical concepts into actionable product requirements and strategic narratives for executive stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in HealthTech, Medicaid waivers, or highly regulated industries where AI decisions carry compliance or clinical-safety implications.
  • Strong background working with LLMs, machine learning, or AI-native consumer products.
  • Previous experience with a marketplace or labor-supply business model, such as the gig economy or digital health.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the evaluation standards and readiness gates that clinical- or caregiver-facing AI features must clear, including what qualifies a feature to leave shadow mode.
  • Ensure caregiver and clinician products reason consistently about the same patient, including aligned patient baselines, care plans, and chart notes, and reliable transfer of signals between product surfaces.
  • Partner with product managers in other areas to improve AI-feature specifications, evaluation criteria, and collaboration with Applied AI.
  • Partner with Applied AI leadership on the architecture for evaluating, monitoring, and iterating caregiver and clinician AI after launch.
  • Work with clinical leadership and compliance to ensure evaluation frameworks are rigorous enough for clinical scrutiny and payer and compliance review.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation packages.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, including a $0 deductible PPO and company-funded HSA.
  • Employer-paid life and disability insurance.
  • Generous paid time off and 10 paid company holidays.
  • HSA contributions, optional FSA and commuter benefits, and full coverage of 401(k) account fees; employer match is not currently offered.
  • Up to 10 weeks of paid parental leave based on tenure.
