Staff Product Manager - Self Serve (Growth)

DeepgramRemote, CA
$200,000 - $268,000

About The Position

Deepgram is seeking a Staff Product Manager for its self-serve team. This role will own the growth of the developer's journey from first touch to committed customer. As part of a founding-era team, the individual will define what good looks like and build the product to achieve it. The position reports to the VP of Self-Serve and involves close collaboration with engineering, design, developer relations, and product analysts.

Requirements

  • Product-led growth experience, with a proven track record of owning and improving self-serve funnel metrics (activation, conversion, retention, or acquisition) for a product adopted without a salesperson.
  • Excellent Product Management skills: ability to set direction, make decisions under uncertainty, ship products, and demonstrate outcomes.
  • Technical aptitude to prototype, understand engineering tradeoffs, and perform independent analysis.
  • Proven ability to build a complete system from scratch, including business rhythms, reporting, optimization, and experimentation platforms.
  • Genuine AI fluency, demonstrated through practical application in workflows, verification of AI outputs, and a clear point of view on AI capabilities and limitations.
  • Strong judgment regarding data, with a reflexive ability to question metrics and identify potential measurement artifacts.
  • Clear and effective communication with executives, leading with decisions and defending methodology under pushback.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a developer or API product, and understanding of how developers adopt SDKs and APIs.
  • Insight into how AI coding agents impact discovery and integration, and the implications of having an agent as a user.
  • A computer-science or engineering background, or a history of shipping personal side projects.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Superset, Heap, and GrowthBook.
  • Experience in a company with both self-serve and enterprise motions, understanding their synergy.

Responsibilities

  • Owning the growth of the self-serve funnel, including metrics, experiments, and product changes.
  • Developing the product experience across onboarding, the console, and the developer activation path.
  • Establishing the complete system for the assigned area, including business rhythms, data-driven optimization, and the experimentation platform.
  • Implementing a weekly rhythm of shipping and measuring, focusing on hypotheses, changes, and data-driven iteration.
  • Managing cross-team collaboration with developer relations, marketing, sales, customer success, and analysts.
