About The Position

The Analytics Platform & Data Partnerships team is seeking a Staff Product Manager to help lead the management and delivery of external partner data assets. In this role, you will accelerate data acquisition, establish and uphold data standards, ensure policy compliance, nurture strategic partnerships, and contribute to the development of robust data pipelines and self-service tools. Your responsibilities will include gathering user data requirements, translating them into actionable user stories, working closely with engineering to deliver data products, shaping data strategy and roadmaps, and monitoring as well as reporting on key usage metrics and KPIs. About Team: Global Tech - AI & Data Building the right technology foundation for Infrastructure platforms & data is vital to success at the scale of Walmart. Our team builds and maintains the foundational technologies that support the tech organization. Included in this are data platforms, enterprise architecture, DevOps, cloud computing, infrastructure, and external data portfolio. All of these products and services are supported by scalable and powerful infrastructure, ensuring a secure and seamless employee and customer experience across stores, digital channels, and distribution centers. What you'll do: In this role, you will be working closely with the Senior, Product Management and the entire Analytics Platform and Data Partnerships Team on the following activities (and potentially more!):

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business field
  • Experience as a Senior Product Manager or in a similar role
  • Product management certification or course completion
  • Proven ability to manage the full product lifecycle and large user bases
  • Experience working with and analyzing data sets, and managing external data partner relationships
  • Strong understanding of different data domains (commercial, consumer, weather, social, etc.)
  • Familiarity with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence)
  • Proficiency in database technologies (such as SQL, GCP)
  • Basic knowledge of using AI tools to enhance data capabilities
  • Excellent time management, organizational, communication, and analytical skills
  • Strong collaborator who can influence cross-functional teams
  • Team player who embraces change, respects others, and is eager to learn and adapt
  • Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related area and 7 years’ experience in product management.
  • Option 2: 9 years’ experience in product management or related area.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related area and 6 years’ experience as a product manager, ideally working on consumer-facing, large-scale, highly complex B2B/C products

Responsibilities

  • Define business and data requirements, assess data quality, evaluate sources, and analyze technical fit
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis, run pilot tests/POCs, and establish governance and ongoing monitoring
  • Identify and implement innovative data sharing tools, collaborating with data partners and internal stakeholders
  • Drive adoption of external data assets and share best practices to position the team as a strategic enabler
  • Deploy and maintain contract intelligence tools with Legal, Procurement, and Business teams to track contracts and highlight obligations
  • Manage RFPs, POCs, and integrations; train users, gather feedback, and maintain external data relationships
  • Work with data engineers to prioritize features and develop product roadmaps
  • Support quarterly key results and align success metrics to overall objectives
  • Standardize data collection across products to better understand customer behavior
  • Prepare and share market research findings
