About The Position

MaintainX is seeking a Staff Product Manager to own the AI Platform, known internally as LLMX, within the Work Intelligence (WIQ) group. LLMX serves as the foundational layer for all AI development at MaintainX, encompassing the runtime, orchestration, evaluation, and observability components that power the company's expanding range of agents and intelligent features. This role is critical for the company's growth, as every AI feature relies on LLMX, and the teams developing on it are rapidly expanding. The ideal candidate will possess a unique blend of product leadership, deep technical expertise in AI systems, a strong understanding of platform adoption and developer experience, and the business acumen to link platform investments to product differentiation and overall enterprise value. Previous experience shipping AI infrastructure that other teams depend on is highly valued.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in product management, with significant experience in AI platform, ML infrastructure, or developer platform roles.
  • Proven track record of shipping production AI services that other teams have built upon, demonstrating the ability to earn and maintain their trust.
  • Genuine technical depth in AI and LLM systems, with informed opinions on model selection, RAG vs. fine-tuning trade-offs, agentic architectures, evaluation frameworks, and latency/cost optimization.
  • Comfortable serving both internal development teams and engineers who use the platform, as well as enterprise buyers whose outcomes depend on it.
  • Strong commercial instinct, understanding how platform investments contribute to enterprise differentiation, competitive positioning, and deal cycles.
  • Disciplined approach to staying current in the rapidly evolving field of LLMs and agentic AI, with a system for applying knowledge without chasing every new development.
  • Data-driven mindset, defining success through metrics, instrumenting the platform, and utilizing evaluation frameworks for visible and scalable quality improvement.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Own the LLMX platform end-to-end, including roadmap, execution, adoption (e.g., teams building, time-to-first-integration), and quality (e.g., eval coverage, latency, cost).
  • Partner with MaintainX's engineering, data, and ML leaders as a technical peer, guiding ambitious initiatives while ensuring platform stability and trust.
  • Proactively engage with feature teams across Core, Growth, Network, and Platform to anticipate and address the capabilities required for their agentic work, preventing potential blockers.
  • Define and deliver essential primitives for the next generation of MaintainX's agentic features, such as routing agents, skill orchestration, human-in-the-loop workflows, agent memory, conversation compaction, and the Global Chat SDK.
  • Manage the platform's evaluation infrastructure, including online monitoring, dataset promotion, and agent gating, to ensure quality and reliability as the number of production agents increases.
