Staff Product Designer

About The Position

We are seeking a Staff Product Designer to be our first full-time product designer, responsible for shaping the user experience across our data products—from clinical dashboards to research analytics and operational insights. You will be a strategic partner to product managers, data developers, business analysts, and clinical informaticists, driving end-to-end design from research to delivery. As a Staff-level contributor, you will set the standard for design excellence across the analytics portfolio, define and evangelize design systems, patterns, and principles, lead user research, usability testing, and journey mapping in complex, regulated environments, advocate for clinician, researcher, and business operations end users, and work across Clinical, Financial, Research, and Business Operations PODs to ensure consistency and scalability. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that will shape the future of how data is understood and used across our enterprise.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in product design, with at least 2 years in data-heavy or analytical products (e.g., dashboards, BI tools, clinical systems)
  • Portfolio demonstrating complex problem-solving, not just visual design
  • Proficiency in Figma, user flows, wireframing, and prototyping
  • Experience conducting user research, interviews, and usability testing
  • Deep understanding of information architecture, data visualization, and user workflows in regulated environments
  • Familiarity with healthcare data (e.g., EHRs, claims, clinical workflows) or enterprise SaaS analytics
  • Ability to work independently and exert influence across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills—able to present design rationale to both technical and clinical stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Databricks, Sigma, agentic coding, Git
  • Exposure to AI/ML-driven interfaces or automated insight delivery
  • Background in clinical informatics, human factors, or behavioral design
  • Experience mentoring junior designers or leading design initiatives in matrixed teams

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end UX/UI of critical data products, from concept to launch
  • Conduct user research and usability studies with clinicians, analysts, and executives
  • Translate complex data workflows into intuitive, actionable interfaces
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Data Engineers, and BI Developers in agile, cross-functional PODs
  • Build and maintain a living design system (Figma) aligned with enterprise standards
  • Establish user-centered design practices across analytics teams
  • Surface unmet needs and deliver solutions users didn’t know they had
  • Champion accessibility, responsiveness, and HIPAA-aligned privacy by design

Benefits

  • additional benefits consistent with the role
