About The Position

Stripe Checkout is building the next generation of checkout experiences so businesses can focus on building their products instead of their conversion funnels. We’re growing and expanding Stripe’s suite of prebuilt checkout surfaces that are optimized for conversion and scale with merchants as they expand to new geographies, customer segments, and business models. Our checkout surfaces range from no- and low-code checkout pages to embedded payment forms and highly customized checkout flows so any business–from a fast-growing startup to an enterprise–can accept payments without building from scratch. Hundreds of millions of payments flow through our checkout surfaces hourly, which necessitates the highest level of craft and reliability. As a Staff Designer on Checkout, you'll lead the visual and interaction design direction for our most opinionated and optimized checkout surfaces. You’ll define how checkouts should flex to support emerging business models and underserved verticals, taking complex merchant needs and translating them to simple, conversion-optimized solutions. You’ll also contribute to and evolve the backing design system for our checkout surfaces.
