Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) is on a mission to deliver the urgent transition to fusion energy by designing and building commercially viable fusion power plants. Combining decades of research, top talent, and new technologies, CFS is working with policymakers and suppliers to build the energy industry of the future. Since 2018, CFS has raised nearly $3 billion in capital, making it the largest and leading private fusion company in the world. The Plant Instrumentation and Control (PIC) team is seeking a Staff Engineer to prepare the team for moving to the ARC era. To build ARCs remotely and work with established utility customers, CFS must establish design, development, and construction standards; create a standard control signal processing platform; develop standard norms that limit the variety of sensors, control devices, and communication protocols utilized; and in general create ARC I&C design, development, procurement, installation, and commissioning approaches that are consistent and can be recreated using multiple different supply and construction partners in various locations in the world.
