About The Position

Bloom Energy is seeking a Staff Process Engineer to provide process engineering support for fuel cell manufacturing. The role is based in Fremont, California, and focuses on addressing production issues, analyzing equipment and product data, and improving manufacturing processes and performance. The engineer will work with Quality, Product Development, and Manufacturing teams to develop procedures and deliver efficiency improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials), Physics, or Chemistry.
• Good verbal and written communication skills, including providing passdowns and reports to coworkers.
• Experience with databases, SPC, DOE, and statistical analysis of manufacturing data.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems to their root cause.
• At least 5 years of experience in manufacturing environments, with hands-on engineering work in semiconductor, hard disk, solar, or related industries.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to understand how hardware and process interactions affect the final product.
• Demonstrated track record of solving manufacturing yield problems.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct process engineering support across multiple functional areas for fuel cell manufacturing.
• Address production issues in real time.
• Collect and analyze equipment and product data, and determine appropriate disposition.
• Collect and analyze operational metrics and functional performance data, and drive tool matching and improvements.
• Define preventive and corrective actions to eliminate the root causes of failures.
• Develop and sustain processes, operating procedures, and related documentation.
• Train production team members on procedures and reaction plans.
• Work cross-functionally with Quality, Product Development, and Manufacturing to develop procedures and improve manufacturing efficiency.
