Staff Post Silicon Electrical Validation Engineer

Renesas Electronics•Duluth, GA

About The Position

The Staff Post Silicon Electrical Validation Engineer is an experienced technical lead responsible for post-silicon validation across multiple product iterations. The role includes hands-on silicon bring-up and validation, with emphasis on DDR5 buffer devices and high-speed analog and mixed-signal characterization. The engineer leads bench-level validation and characterization, drives debug efforts, develops test methodologies, and collaborates with design, system, product engineering, and validation teams. The position supports characterization of critical electrical and timing parameters for high-speed memory devices. It uses best-known test and measurement techniques—including de-embedding, high-impedance probing, and noise compensation—to address signal-integrity challenges as memory data rates scale. The engineer works with designers and cross-functional partners to debug and optimize performance through exploratory testing that extends beyond specification-driven measurements. The role involves synthesizing experimental results and defining follow-up experiments to isolate and understand complex issues. It also includes producing clear reports for technical and non-technical audiences, documenting reproducible test methods and assumptions, and communicating technical concepts to varied stakeholders and global teams. The engineer will develop and validate applications of LLM/AI techniques to analyze large validation datasets, create visualizations, and reduce reporting cycle time.
