About The Position
Mission Hospital, the flagship hospital in Western North Carolina, is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible hospitalist to join its inpatient medicine team in Asheville, North Carolina. The role offers the opportunity to practice high-acuity medicine at a regional referral center with advanced specialty support and multidisciplinary collaboration. Mission Hospital is a major teaching and referral facility and a Level I trauma center, according to the job description. The position follows a 7-on/7-off schedule. Resident and advanced practice clinician support are available. The ICU is closed, and the role does not include procedures or codes. The physician will work in a collegial, physician-led culture focused on quality and patient safety, with opportunities to teach internal medicine and family medicine residents.
Requirements
- MD or DO.
- Board certified or board eligible in internal medicine or family medicine.
- Eligible for a North Carolina medical license.
Responsibilities
- Provide hospitalist care to inpatients in a high-acuity regional referral center.
- Teach internal medicine and family medicine residents, as opportunities arise.
- Contribute to a physician-led culture focused on quality and patient safety.
