About The Position

TeamHealth is seeking a PRN nurse practitioner or physician assistant to join the hospital medicine program at HCA Florida Putnam Hospital in Palatka, Florida. This daytime-only position offers 12-hour shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with flexible PRN scheduling based on program needs. The role is suited to an experienced inpatient clinician who wants schedule flexibility while providing meaningful care as part of a collaborative hospital medicine team.

The clinician will care for adult hospitalized patients and work autonomously within a supportive environment alongside physicians, advanced practice clinicians, and interdisciplinary staff. Professional liability insurance, including tail coverage, is provided.

HCA Florida Putnam Hospital is a 99-bed acute care facility in Putnam County, with an intensive/critical care unit, step-down unit, cardiac catheterization lab, medical and surgical units, family birthplace center, and 24-hour emergency medicine.

Requirements

• Current Florida nurse practitioner or physician assistant license, or eligibility to obtain licensure.
• National board certification as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant.
• Prior inpatient clinician experience in hospital medicine, internal medicine, critical care, or a related inpatient setting.
• Strong clinical judgment and patient management skills.
• Ability to work independently and thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for adult hospitalized patients.
• Perform admissions, daily rounding, consultations, and follow-up evaluations.
• Develop treatment plans and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, specialists, and care management teams.
• Assist with care coordination and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
