Full Time Staff Pharmacist - Nanaimo
About The Position
The Staff Pharmacist assists the Pharmacy Manager in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations. Provides patient care specific to each patient based on feedback received during patient consultation or file review. The role involves ensuring excellent patient experience, locating merchandise, establishing strong working relationships with stakeholders, accepting and filling prescriptions accurately and safely, counseling patients, ensuring proper storage of pharmaceuticals, executing processes as per Walmart's best ways/SOPs, operating pharmacy equipment, protecting patient privacy, ensuring patients receive eligible services, and maintaining pharmacy operational hours. The Staff Pharmacist also assists in executing the business action plan to achieve corporate business goals.
Requirements
- Age - 16 or older
- Pharmacist License (secondary optional permit in Alberta: CA_APA - Additional Prescribing Authorization)
Responsibilities
- Assists the Pharmacy Manager in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations.
- Provides patient care specific to each patient based on feedback received during patient consultation or file review.
- Ensures excellent patient experience.
- Locates merchandise on the sales floor.
- Establishes and develops a strong working relationship with Professional Services District Manager and other stakeholders.
- Accepts prescriptions and/or refill requests from Customers, Doctors or Hospitals.
- Ensures all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely using the established workflow models.
- Counsels all patients on sold pharmaceutical products.
- Ensures proper storage of pharmaceutical products.
- Executes processes as per Walmart's best ways/SOPs.
- Operates all equipment in the pharmacy (register, computer system etc.).
- Protects and maintains patient privacy at all times and follows provincial regulations established by the regulatory body.
- Ensures patients receive all eligible services they are entitled to (medication reviews, injections etc.) to meet specific patient needs.
- Ensures that Pharmacy is open and operational during the posted business hours.
- Assists in executing the business action plan to achieve corporate business goals.
