About The Position

Join Walmart’s Central Fill Pharmacy team as an hourly 2nd shift Staff Pharmacist and play a crucial role in optimizing backend operations. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your skills in a highly automated environment, ensuring efficient prescription processing and enabling retail pharmacies to focus on patient care. The Central Fill Pharmacy team is at the forefront of automation and efficiency, processing prescriptions for multiple retail locations. Our purpose is to streamline backend operations, allowing retail pharmacies to dedicate more time to patient care. As a Staff Pharmacist, you will be pivotal in maintaining high operational standards and ensuring seamless pharmacy services.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Pharmacist (RPh) licensure with ability to obtain and renew multiple state permits and registrations as required.
  • Proven experience managing medication inventory, including stock rotation, cycle counts, recalls, and expired medication processing.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure compliance and operational excellence.
  • Ability to direct and mentor pharmacy associates while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality in prescription verification.
  • Demonstrated adaptability to changing production demands and commitment to continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD, or equivalent Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency (FPGE) from National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP)
  • Current, unrestricted pharmacist license in state of practice.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and guide pharmacy associates to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies.

  • Perform visual verification of prescriptions for clinical and legal accuracy and adherence to standard operating procedures.
  • Adapt to changing production demands while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Obtain and renew required pharmacist permits, registrations, and licenses timely.
  • Provide expertise to develop and improve action plans supporting business and customer needs.
  • Build relationships with associates and management to implement business initiatives and identify improvement opportunities.
