About The Position

Health Wealth Pharmacy is hiring an on-site PRN Staff Pharmacist in Houston, Texas, to provide dependable pharmacist coverage and support daily prescription operations. The pharmacist will review, verify, and dispense prescriptions safely and accurately, applying clinical judgment and working independently during assigned shifts with minimal supervision. Shifts are available based on pharmacy needs; hours may vary, and a set weekly schedule is not guaranteed.

Requirements

Active, unrestricted Texas pharmacist license.
PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
Strong prescription verification and clinical assessment skills.
Knowledge of applicable state and federal pharmacy regulations.
Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
Ability to work independently during assigned shifts.
Dependability and flexibility with scheduling.

Nice To Haves

Experience in compounding or specialty pharmacy settings.
Experience with sterile injectable medications.
Experience with GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide.
Experience with high-volume prescription processing.
Experience with electronic pharmacy management systems.

Responsibilities

Review incoming prescriptions for completeness, accuracy, and clinical appropriateness.
Verify medication strength, dosing instructions, quantities, and patient information.
Perform drug utilization reviews and identify potential medication interactions or contraindications.
Communicate with prescribers when clarification is needed.
Complete pharmacist verification at designated stages of prescription processing.
Conduct final verification before medications are dispensed or shipped.
Review compounded medication labels, beyond-use dates, and storage instructions.
Work with pharmacy technicians and fulfillment staff to maintain an organized workflow.
Address prescription discrepancies and escalate patient-safety concerns.
Maintain accurate documentation and follow pharmacy regulations and procedures.
