Staff Pharmacist - Full Time
About The Position
The Staff Pharmacist supports the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing Pharmacy Technician Support Staff and is accountable for supporting the management, oversight, and operation of all aspects of the pharmacy. Areas of responsibility include patient safety, professional pharmacy practice, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, personnel and inventory management, financial profitability, loss prevention, and workflow management. The role helps keep customers and patients healthy through adoption and management of patient care programs. The pharmacist leads with empathy and compassion, motivates and develops support staff, identifies business opportunities, helps develop and implement solutions, and adapts plans to a dynamic community healthcare setting. The role also involves collaborating with others, aligning colleagues around shared goals, contributing to a caring and energetic team culture, and applying professional knowledge to support healthy outcomes and distinguish CVS from competitors.
Requirements
- Active pharmacy license in the state of employment.
- Not on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
- Immunization certification through an accredited organization, such as APhA.
- No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Pharm.D. degree.
Responsibilities
- Support the Pharmacy Manager in leading and directing Pharmacy Technician Support Staff.
- Support management, oversight, and operation of the pharmacy, including patient safety, professional practice, regulatory requirements, quality assurance, customer service, personnel management, inventory management, financial profitability, loss prevention, and workflow management.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to help keep customers and patients healthy.
- Demonstrate empathy and compassion toward patients, customers, caregivers, and colleagues.
- Motivate, inspire, and develop Pharmacy Support Staff by balancing assignments, addressing development opportunities, and reducing knowledge gaps.
- Identify business opportunities and contribute to solutions that drive growth and improve pharmacy performance.
- Lead the team in implementing solutions and achieving specified goals.
- Adapt to change and adjust plans in a dynamic community healthcare setting.
