Specialty Pharmacist – Interim (No Weekends)
About The Position
Specialty Medical Staffing is currently hiring a Staff Pharmacist for a specialty pharmacy assignment in the Lake Charles, LA area . This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist with specialty or retail experience who is looking for a weekday schedule with no weekends or on-call responsibilities . This pharmacist will support the existing pharmacy team and assist with standard dispensing and clinical responsibilities in a specialty pharmacy environment. Assignment Details Start: Early May End: Mid-August Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Pharmacy System: Epic Willow Ambulatory
Requirements
- Active Louisiana Pharmacist License in good standing
- Specialty pharmacy or retail pharmacy experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Background check
- Drug screen
- TB screening
- HIPAA training
- Hospital confidentiality and substance abuse forms
- Hospital new hire and education review with exam
- Code of Conduct review and signed attestation
Nice To Haves
- Specialty pharmacy or retail pharmacy experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform standard staff pharmacist duties including prescription verification and dispensing oversight
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and safety protocols
- Provide drug information and patient counseling when needed
- Collaborate with pharmacy staff to maintain efficient workflow
- Support the existing staff pharmacist with daily pharmacy operations
