About The Position

The Harborview Medical Center Pharmacy Department is looking for an outstanding Staff Pharmacist (Pharmacist 2) to join our Outpatient Pharmacy Team! This role involves performing clinical and distributive pharmacy duties in one of six outpatient pharmacies, providing drug information and education to patients, physicians/clinicians, and nurses, and instructing students, residents, interns, and technicians. The Staff Pharmacist will provide pharmaceutical care to patients.

Requirements

  • One year of experience in pharmacy practice or completion of an American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists accredited residency training program.
  • State of Washington Pharmacist license.

Responsibilities

  • Provide oversight for the preparation and dispensing of prescription medications.
  • Conduct a thorough patient profile review to assess the appropriateness of the prescribed medication including monitoring individual patient profiles for drug duplications, interactions, allergies, appropriate dose, strength, and route of administration at the time each order is received.
  • Interview patients and provide education regarding their medications.
  • Direct the work of technicians, interns, pharmacy students, and residents.
  • Perform direct patient screening and education on selected medical conditions at consultation windows in the outpatient pharmacy waiting room.
  • Recommend appropriate drug therapy based on patient parameters and interpretation of current literature, safety, efficacy, and cost and advise providers about patients' drug therapy.

Benefits

  • Pay Range Minimum: $69.39 hourly
  • Pay Range Maximum: $99.31 hourly
