About The Position

Responsible for evaluating and treating pediatric patients within the WashU Children's Eye Center. This role involves performing refractive exams, contact lens fitting and dispensing, emergency exams, and the evaluation and management of medical diseases of the eye. The Staff Optometrist will also assist in Ophthalmologist's clinics alongside an Orthoptist, discuss and interpret findings with patients, and suggest appropriate remedies. Adherence to established compliance guidelines, including those governing the appropriate coding of patient services and diagnoses, as well as quality, safety, and hazardous material procedures, is required. Other duties may be assigned by the Director of Ophthalmology.

Requirements

• O.D. - Doctor Of Optometry - Optometry
• Basic Life Support - American Heart Association OR Basic Life Support - American Red Cross
• Optometrist - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation OR Optometrist - Missouri Division of Professional Registration
• Code of Federal Regulations

• Optometry Grade C20
