About The Position

AnMed’s Observation Unit is an 11-bed unit that bridges the Emergency Department and inpatient care. The unit is staffed by physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nursing assistants, and registered nurses. It primarily treats patients with TIA symptoms, syncope, and chest pain who need additional evaluation before their next steps in treatment are determined.

The Staff Nurse manages and provides care to a group of patients and their families, using independent judgment and collaborating with the healthcare team to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care. AnMed accepts applications from Graduate Nurses who meet South Carolina LLR criteria.

Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
• AnMed accepts Graduate Nurses who meet South Carolina LLR criteria.
• 0–1 year of experience for entry-level Staff Nurse positions.
• ADN candidates must be enrolled in a BSN program within 18 months of hire.
• A BSN is required within four years of hire, except for qualifying ADN nurses grandfathered under the stated policy.

Nice To Haves

• BLS certification is preferred; successful completion of the hospital-provided BLS course is required within 90 days of hire.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient needs using the nursing process.
• Actively participate in patient care as defined by the multidisciplinary plan of care.
• Provide direct and indirect nursing care to patients from diverse cultural backgrounds and of varying ages pertinent to the assigned area.
• Manage and provide patient care activities for a group of patients and their families using independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with team members.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians, other healthcare providers, patients, and families to achieve desired patient outcomes throughout the continuum of care.
