About The Position

Join UChicago Medicine as a Staff Nurse in Labor and Delivery at the Family Birth Center. The Family Birth Center offers a customized birth experience in a nurturing environment, with a team of experts supporting pregnant women and their families through pregnancy, childbirth, bonding, breastfeeding, and healing. The center is equipped with private triage, delivery, antepartum, and recovery suites, two large private natural birthing suites with hydrotherapy tubs, and operating rooms for cesarean births, all designed for comfort, safety, and options. A Staff Nurse is a registered professional nurse (RN) who manages patient-centered care based on outcome-directed principles and professional nursing practice standards. The nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, assuming primary responsibility and accountability for their own patient care and that of their supervisees.

Requirements

Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
Associate Degree in Nursing
Associate Degree Nurses are required to enroll in a BSN program within six (6) to nine (9) months of hire, and make progress toward and complete their BSN degree within 30 months.
Current Illinois RN license
Active BLS certification

Responsibilities
