About The Position

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center’s mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in his/her own plan of care and reducing the length of hospitalization. The staff nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care. The Staff Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and his/her family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Staff Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model. Harding Hospital at the OSU Wexner Medical Center offers adult and geriatric inpatient program with 84 beds and provides emergency stabilization, diagnosis and the initial stages of treatment for those requiring inpatient care. Patient-centered, trauma-informed care is supported by an interdisciplinary team with a strong focus on staff and patient safety, clinical excellence, and professional growth. Harding 3rd floor is a 24-bed psychiatric behavioral health unit at Harding Hospital specializing in treating a wide range of mental health conditions, with particular expertise in psychotic disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and major depressive disorder.

Requirements

• 2- year College Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program is required
• Current Ohio license or interim permit required
• Maintains current Ohio RN license
• Meets mandatory educational and health requirements
• Demonstrates computer skills required to meet job functions

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with a major in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program is preferred
• 2 years of experience in behavioral health or acute care setting is preferred
