About The Position

Staff Nurse RN (0.7 FTE) for our Cancer Center in downtown Minneapolis. This position operates within the Hennepin Healthcare System Relationship-Based Care practice model. The registered nurse provides and coordinates nursing care by protecting, promoting wellness and optimizing health, triaging patients by assessing severity of symptoms and referral to appropriate setting or level of care, alleviating suffering through the treatment of the human response, partnering with the patient, their family and significant others, documenting interventions and an individualized plan of care, educating patient on their disease process, assuring continuity of care, and educating patient and family in preventative care which promotes health and well being.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota
• 1 year of current oncology professional nursing (RN) experience
• OCN certified or able to obtain certification within 2 years of hire date
• Chemo administrative experience

Nice To Haves

• Certification in area of clinical specialty
• Chemo/Biotherapy course
• Inpatient Oncology experience
• BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
