Per-diem Staff Nurse (LPN)
About The Position
Banyan Treatment Centers is expanding its services to Greater Tampa, FL, and is seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their nursing team at their newest facility in Laurel Run, PA. This role involves providing essential nursing support to patients undergoing treatment for substance use disorders and mental health conditions. The LPN will be responsible for maintaining high standards of patient care, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to the growth of a dynamic team. The position is crucial in supporting individuals in their recovery from addiction and mental health challenges.
Requirements
- Active LPN license in Pennsylvania.
- Nursing degree/diploma from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Strong assessment and organizational skills.
- Detail-oriented with excellent communication abilities.
- Ability to maintain objectivity and empathy in patient interactions.
- Adherence to the Healthcare Code of Ethics.
- Familiarity with Joint Commission Standards.
- Knowledge of State and Federal confidentiality regulations.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in behavioral/mental health, acute care, detox, or mental health facilities.
- Familiarity with KIPU EMR system.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, including ASAM forms.
- Provide routine care at various levels of care.
- Identify treatment needs and integrate findings into collaborative, measurable treatment plans.
- Complete nursing documentation in accordance with facility and state requirements.
- Review medication logs and assist the medical department with various tasks.
- Administer medications as directed by the medical provider.
- Facilitate medication education and incorporate nursing and medical issues into treatment plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and referral sources to provide progress updates and coordinate post-discharge recovery plans.
- Apply clinical judgment and intervention skills in crisis situations, including risk assessments and de-escalation.
- Tailor nursing approaches to meet diverse patient needs.
- Build rapport and foster trust with patients through strong interpersonal skills.
