About The Position

The Staff Nurse III is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides fiscally responsible care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/instrumentation and other health care team members. He/she demonstrates excellence in nursing practice, thoroughness, creativity, leadership, education and participation in unit projects.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Bachelor's degree in nursing or Master's Degree in nursing.
• Bachelor's degree in nursing: 2 years' experience as RN and 2 years' experience in specialty immediate prior to application.
• Master's degree in nursing: 2 years' experience as RN and 1 years' experience in specialty immediate prior to application.
• Current California RN license required.
• AHA BLS and PALS required.
• Must be employed full-time or 4/5 at Washington Hospital for one year prior to making application (may be waived if full-time student in MSN program).
• Completion of the Staff Nurse III application packet and portfolio is required.
• Ability to work productively in a busy and complex environment.
• Effective written and oral communication skills in English.
