About The Position

The staff nurse is a professional nurse who, with minimal supervision, provides nursing care to patients in the Emergency Department. Patient care includes assessment, interventions, and reassessment. The nurse is also responsible for planning, implementing, educating, and evaluating care for patients and caregivers. The nurse must be able to use medical equipment, patient records, reports, and a computer, and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current RN license in the State of Alabama, or an equivalent Alabama single-state or NLC multistate RN license.
• Associate of Science in Nursing, or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients with minimal supervision.
• Assess patients, provide interventions, and reassess them.
• Plan, implement, educate, and evaluate care for patients and caregivers.
• Use medical equipment, patient records, reports, and a computer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
