About The Position

Join Our Team as a Staff Mold Design Engineer! This role provides high-quality engineering support to the operations team, focusing on achieving target yield and scrap goals by identifying and resolving operations issues related to tooling. The engineer will improve operational efficiency and reliability through continuous improvement of processes, tools/equipment, manufactured products, and automation. Responsibilities include designing and creating drawings and models for new tooling/fixture/mechanical systems or improvements to existing ones using 3D CAD software, conducting design reviews, writing detailed specifications, planning and supervising installation and startup of tooling/process equipment, conducting experiments and analyzing data, creating instruction bulletins, and occasionally supporting maintenance and R&D teams. The role also involves qualifying new tooling/process, visiting suppliers for Factory Acceptance Testing, and running computer simulations for thermal analysis.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing environment involving processes and tools.
  • Strong drafting skills with experience in 3D CAD modeling (SolidEdge preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organization and presentation skills, including ability to map out projects, prioritize workloads and maintain documentation.
  • Ability to work independently with limited to no supervision.
  • Ability to work with people in a production/plant environment.
